Appealing Parking Violations
Appeals for parking violations are heard at the Clemson Municipal Court. You may also email your appeal to appeals@cityofclemson.org.

Motion for New Trial
You must first file a written Motion for New Trial with the Clerk of Court within 10 days of your court date. The motion should include your full name, date of birth, current mailing address, phone number, a copy of the ticket/warrant, and a full explanation of your reason for requesting a new trial. Please send an additional copy of the motion so that we may stamp it received by the Court. If the Judge grants your motion, a new bench trial or jury trial will be scheduled in our Court. If the Judge denies the motion, you will then need to file an appeal.

Notice of Appeal
If a Motion for New Trial is denied and you wish to appeal a conviction by a Judge or Jury, a written Notice of Appeal must be delivered to the Court within 30 days of your court date. The Notice of Appeal should include your full name, date of birth, mailing address, phone number, a copy of the ticket/warrant, and a full explanation of your reason to appeal. Please bring an additional copy of the Appeal so that we may stamp it received by the Court.  After you have filed the appeal, the Court will forward the appeal to the Court of General Sessions located in Pickens, S.C. You will be notified by the Clerk of Court for Pickens County as to the time and date your appeal will be heard.

Expunging an Arrest Record
The Clemson Municipal Court expunges misdemeanor criminal arrest records if the defendant is found to be “Not Guilty” or if the charge is “Nolle Prosequi” or “Dismissed” by the Court, AND ONLY in the event the person was fingerprinted for said offense. Requests should be made either in person at the Court, in writing, or by faxing a written request to Clemson Municipal Court, 1250 Tiger Boulevard Ste 3, Clemson, SC, 29631 or (864) 653-2044. Once 31 days have passed from the time of the request, the Judge will sign an Expungement Order. The Court will then destroy said record and forward a copy of the order to the Clemson Police Department, S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles, and S.C. Law Enforcement Division (SLED). If you were convicted of a traffic/criminal offense, or if you participated in a Diversion Program, and wish to have the record expunged, you must contact the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Solicitor’s Office at (864) 898-5628.
