Clemson University SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater Monitoring Record Updates as of October 6th

Clemson University SARS-CoV-2 in Wastewater Monitoring Record Updates as of October 6th

Results from 10/06/2020 data brings some good news; for Cochran Road, the level was back below one million copies per liter and for Pendleton/Clemson there was a very significant decrease for the first time since monitoring began.  Please remember that we are looking for trends; while this week’s results for Cochran Road and Pendleton/Clemson are in the right direction, the question is whether or not they can be sustained.  Levels in the campus wastewater continued to be above one million copies per liter.  A contributing factor (although not the full explanation) is that a significant number of infected students are being quarantined on campus.

The results have been submitted to Clemson University’s Waste Water Results dashboard and should be updated soon.

We are collecting a campus headworks sample football game.  We will collect the next round of headworks samples from Monday to Tuesday.

Please continue to wear a mask when in public spaces and near people not in your household.
