Census Data Collection Ends on September 30
In April, the Census Bureau indicated it would need until October 31 to accurately count all people in the country due to delays incurred by coronavirus pandemic. However, the agency has announced that efforts will now end by September 30.
You can respond with the online form, by phone or by mail. The form is easy to complete and only takes about 10 minutes.
Everyone’s response counts! The results of the 2020 Census will help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funding flow into communities every year for the next decade. That funding shapes many different aspects of every community…hospitals, fire departments, schools, roads, public transit, and resources for family needs. In addition, the census results also determine the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives and are used to draw congressional and state legislative districts.
